Care Solutions has recently acquired Lock Park Adventure Centre situated in the County of Moray, Scotland.

The Centre provides a day service for people with learning difficulties who learn rural skills by carrying out activities in the work shops and around the Centre under expert guidance. A bunkhouse facility is available which can be used for 'short breaks'.

Centre activities include: Archery, gorge walking, a ropes course, open canoeing, kayaking, and team-building activities. All of the activities and the bunkhouse are also open to the public.

Set in the malt whisky trail between Keith and Dufftown in the picturesque Strathisla Valley, Lock Park provides excellent facilities for anyone interested in outdoor pursuits. An on-site warden and qualified staff are available to help you enjoy various activities at your own pace, including canoeing, archery, gorge walking and some of the best brown trout fishing in Scotland. The self-catering accommodation in the Swan Bunkhouse includes two rooms that each sleep up to six people and two rooms that each sleep two. Although the Bunkhouse is fully ramped and accessible to wheelchair users, one room is specifically adapted for people with disabilities and has an en-suite shower room and w.c. Also available is a fully-equipped kitchen

Activities include Canoeing, Kayaking, Gorge, Raft Building, Archery, Ropes Course, Projects, Wayfaring.

What to Bring:

For your comfort and enjoyment the following list is a guideline of the clothing you will need. Clothing should be old as it may get muddy and wet! A complete change of clothing is required as well as the clothes you are travelling in and should comprise of:

bulletA towel.
bulletA warm wooly jumper or two sweat shirts.
bulletA "T" shirt.
bulletBathing costume/trunks.
bulletA warm pair of wooly socks or two thinner pairs.
bulletOld training shoes/walking boots.
bulletTracksuit bottoms or similar (no jeans).
bulletAn old waterproof jacket.

This is a minimum list for a day's activities. If your adventure is longer than one day or the weather is particularly inclement you will need to add to this list. You may wish to change into another set of clothes is you are spending a whole day at Loch Park - this would depend on your programme of activities.

Lock Park adventure provides wetsuits for certain activities (e.g. kayaking & gorgewalking).

If you are in doubt, please do not hesitate to contact the Centre.

Please do not bring valuables to the Centre.

We request that jewellery is not worn on activities and if watches are worn that they should be waterproof.

If you wear spectacles, please bring a piece of string to secure them during the activities.
