All areas have their "worthies". They are the people that for one reason or another everyone knew. They are invariably "good" people. Everyone might know the crooks and the bullies but they remain just that, crooks and bullies, never "worthies". All you older folk have come across worthies in your time so come on and share your stories with the rest of us.
Our first "worthy" is Jimmy Taylor, who was van man for Bob Sutherland (Bob Suds) of Botriphnie shop and Post Office. The word sketch has been provided by David (Davie) Taylor, Jimmy's son. If you want to get in touch with Davie, give me a call on 01542-810344 and I'll put you in touch.
Our second "worthy" is Bob Sutherland himself, who owned and ran Drummuir shop for many a year. The word sketch has been provided by Alistair Taylor, brother of David above. If you want to get in touch with Alastair, give me a call on 01542-810344 and I'll put you in touch.
Our third is about Drummuir Shop itself, and again it was provided by Alastair Taylor. If anyone can add any more information about the shop, including information about the people who worked there over the years, please send it to me (dave.mcwilliam@towienet.co.uk 01542-810344) and I'll add it to the web.
