The builder of Drummuir Castle was Admiral Archibald Duff He served in Nelson's navy and at one time was First Officer on HMS Foudroyant.

Location: Middlesborough. (Previously at Gosport.) 
Condition: Hull in a good condition but vessel is un-rigged. 
Alterations: Rebuilt in 1835 & 1845.

History & Significance: The last surviving transom sterned frigate.

The real Foudroyant was Nelson's flagship during the recapture of Naples in 1799. It was a 3rd Rate. ???? Plymouth. 1798. 80 guns.

In 1897 it was wrecked whilst tied to Blackpool pier.
