The present school was built in 1875 on the site of the old Parochial school, which according to The McWillie Diaries was founded on the 23rd August 1865. The earliest Admission records seem to have been lost but those from 1884 onwards are recorded here. Every effort has been made to ensure accuracy but sometimes the writing was difficult to decipher and successive writers have differed in what they included/omitted. For example, some recorded a child's previous and next school whilst others did not. If you find any inaccuracies, or if you wish to have a particular item checked, please contact me at dave.mcwilliam@towienet.co.uk.

Note 1: Admission dates in underlined italics denote a re-admission. When a pupil was first admitted to Botriphnie school he/she was given a Register Number and if they later left the school and subsequently returned they were given their previous number and marked as re-admitted.

Note 2: The relationship of the Parent/Guardian to the Pupil is not given until the Register starting in 1920.
